Asian Stud Poker is played with the standard 52 cards with one joker.
The card values are as follows:
- Aces 1 point.
- Numbers 2 through 9 has face value
- Tens and face cards are valued 10.
- Joker is also valued at 1 point.
The proceeds of the game:
- Players ante based on table limits.
- Dealer deals 5 cards for all the players and for self face down.
- After looking in to the cards, the players either raise or fold.
- If the player should raise, they have to place twice the sum of the original ante.
- If the player decides to fold, then they loose their ante and their claim on the pot.
- All the players who have not folded should divide their five cards into one three-card hand and one two-card hand.
- If the player has a total of 10, 20, or 30 points in the 3-card hand when the values of the cards are totaled, then they qualify.
- If the player does not qualify with the 3-card hand then the 2-card hand will not matter; however, their chance to win is only when the dealer fails to qualify.
- If the 3-card hand will qualify, then the value of the 2-card hand will be considered based on the total points of the two cards.
- The highest total with a 2-card hand can be 10 or 20, and it will have a value of 10.
- The value of the 2-card hand will be the terminal value in the total number of points similar to baccarat. Example, 6 and 9 will total to 15, and the value will be 5 (the last digit in 15).
- After the players arrange their hand, the dealer will arrange his hands as a 3-card hand and a 2-card hand.
- The dealer should qualify with 10, 20, or 30 points for the 3-card hand. If the dealer’s 3-card hand does not qualify then this 2 card hand will be assessed similar to the 2-card hand.
- If the dealer does not qualify with the 3-card hand then the players who did not fold will win even money for the ante and the raise will be a push (push is a tie between the dealers hand and the players hand.)
- If the dealer qualifies and the player does not then the player will loose both the ante and the raise.
- If both the dealer and the player qualify then the 2-card hand will determine the winner. If the dealer excels, the player loses ante and raise, if there is a tie, then the ante and the raise will push.
- If the players’ two card hand qualifies, then the player will win even money for the ante and the raise and they will get their pay outs based on the point values as followed by the casino.
